2nd Annual Haley’s Happy Birthday Party
Birthdays are special to us! Haley spent 2 of her 3 birthdays in the hospital and that inspired us to create Haley’s Happy Birthdays and ultimately The Haley Rasco Foundation. We wanted patients like Haley to feel celebrated even though they were in the hospital on their birthday. When we started, we thought we might do a few birthdays a month, but we never imaged we would have done over 780 birthdays in just 20 months at the 6 pediatric hospitals we are now serving!
This Foundation has been such a blessing, healing, and wild ride for our family. It is very evident God’s hands are ALL over it and that was obvious at our 2nd annual Haley’s Happy Birthday Party on May 17, 2024.
The night before setup massive storms blew through Houston, Texas cutting off power to over a million people and causing severe damage all over the city. But by God’s grace, our home and church, Houston Northwest, where we were hosting the event weathered the storm and had power!
We were able to host over event as planned and prayed people would show up and boy they did!
Guests came to enjoy cupcakes, bounce houses, games, Star Wars characters, and sit in construction machines provided by Mustang Cat.
They also brought 123 toy donations valued at $2,468, helped us build 100 Birthday Boxes and 78 Birthday Bags, and helped us raised $5,000! We also had 6 people sign up for the Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
We are so thankful to all those that attended, donated, and helped us make birthdays. As well as, all our vendors and volunteers that made the event possible. Our impact is magnified by all those that support us. Haley’s legacy of JOY is able to touch so many because of everyone that partners with us in any way.
