One Year Anniversary

One year ago I pressed “Publish” on a website and social media page having no idea what to expect. 

Would people actually donate? Would people be interested? Would they keep donating?  I wonder how many birthdays we could deliver? 

The simple idea of having birthday parties for kids in the hospital quickly developed into more than we could have dreamed in just one year.

When I pressed that button on August 18, 2022 I literally said “God, it is in your hands now…” and boy has He run with it!  The very next day we delivered our 1st Birthday in a Box and we haven’t stopped since.

We started expanding from birthdays to holiday events, toy deliveries and special events.  We began serving Texas Children’s Main Campus Cancer & Hematology Center, but by Easter we were serving Texas Children’s Main, The Woodlands, West Campus, M.D. Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center.

We have been amazed by the doors God has opened for us as we build this Non-Profit Foundation and we wanted to share some highlights with you!

• We now serve 5 Houston area pediatric hospitals with a variety of programs

• Our donors have helped us raise $131,957 in our first year!

• We have delivered 350 birthday boxes or bags to patients celebrating in the hospital

• We have delivered 1,449 toys valued at $14,561 to Child Life Departments

• We have delivered holiday goodie bags to 1,392 patients, (including over 4,000 Easter eggs)

• 10 families received Christmas gifts and decorations from our Holiday Helper program totaling $4,455

• We delivered over 2,000 Christmas cards that people and families decorated to pediatric hospitals all over the nation

• We provided food and supplies for events like Hospital Trick or Treating, Donut Day, Ice Cream Day, and a Summer Luau

• We have been able to have volunteers inside Texas Children’s Hospital hosting patient events at all 3 campuses

These are just a some of the THOUSANDS of Moments of Joy we have provided this year!

There have been so many families that have reached out to us, sharing the impact that one toy, one birthday, or one holiday goody bag has had on their child.  It is those messages that make ALL of this worth it.  Knowing that somewhere there is a child just like Haley stuck in a hospital, battling something so big, and for just a moment they get to experience JOY!

Thank you GOD that we have the privilege to serve these patients. 

Thank you GOD that we get to talk about Haley, honor her legacy, and most importantly spread her JOY to so many every day.
